Thoughts From Suzane

I was sitting in the dentist office when I noticed a copy of AARP on the table. I went to reach for it when I noticed in bold letters in the upper right hand corner, “Life after Death: What You Believe!” I grabbed it, devoured all the stats which I must confess I already knew. Now just to get the record straight we’re talking about questions that 1000 baby boomers over 50 were asked. The numbers are the following: 86% believe in Heaven, 94% believe in God, ¾ or 73% believe in Life after Death (80 % of women believe in an afterlife, 64% of men. Those who were much older, in their 80s and 90s, had increased confidence in their beliefs as they got older. In the book The World’s Religions: Our Great Wisdom Traditions by Huston Smith says belief in the afterlife has risen in the past 50 years. It seems that many people feel that after death, life is a lot of fun. It includes sex, uniting with families and lots of humor. Death is seen as a dynamic amazing thing without wings, harps or just sitting on clouds.

Now, most of you know I’ve been in the business of “talking to the DP’s” for over 30 years. So you can imagine how I have personally experienced my profession going from underground to mainstream TV, not to mention hit shows, even if the truth is stretched as to what is real or not. But there is no denying the power and interest in the afterlife and spiritual matters. This is evident from the guests I have on my show which includes doctors, scientists, bio-physicists, and many well-known established authors. There would have been a time when people with those distinctions would not have been comfortable being on a “mediums’” radio show!

This is not only reflected in the media but in places such as Omega, Kripalu, and the many spiritual events around the country that are well attended. I am, however, often asked, “With what seems to be so many awful things going on, how could we actually become more spiritual?” My answer always is, “It depends on what we focus on—the awful or the hopeful.” If you listen to TV daily, of course you’re going to see what’s going on in the world from what the media shows you. I learned a long time ago not to always watch TV because you may not, or probably won’t, get the true picture.

The thought I would like to share with you is that I believe there are some wonderful people doing some wonderful things in the world. If you want to see just some of the exciting things going on, and you want to see them on TV, you don’t even have to look further than Oprah. She has done a wonderful service in healing the planet and enlightening people. Warren Buffet and Bill Gates have donated billions of dollars around the world for education and healthcare. They do this not only because they have money, but want to make a difference. Many people who have money, have no desire to make such a difference. Also, one does not have to have money to make that difference. Ideas for new causes and organizations are created because someone cares about making a difference.

I believe there is a “shift” taking place around the world, and just recently, one of my guests, also one of those people who endeavors to make a difference, told me that there’s a short movie that reflects this sense of a shift around the world. You may want to check it out. I hope you enjoy it as I did.

And, I hope you, as I am, will continue to bask in the rest of summer.

Warmly,

Suzane

Your Questions Answered

This month I'll answer several questions! Let's start with Coral. She asks:

Both of my sons crossed over recently to the other side by suicide. To cope, I have been watercoloring and acrylic fine art painting. Is there any way to "feel" out what colors are like on the other side?

Coral,

Please accept my deepest prayers for your losses. To be honest, whatever you need to do to cope with this painful situation, I feel it is wonderful for you to do. If your painting is helping you then it is an inner, peaceful way to do it.

What I've been told is that the colors on the other side are so beautiful they are not even imaginable to us here in the physical realm. I would continue to keep doing your paintings and listen to what you are tuning in to and feeling. Again, my prayers and thoughts go out to you.

Warmly, Suzane

The next question is from Jean. She asks:

If I pass away at an older age than my parents were when they passed, will I recognize them as they were when they were younger? Also, my husband passed away eighteen months ago after a very long illness. I had a dream about him the other night and he was calling out to me and asking me to come with him (there was something he wanted to show me). When I awoke, I felt scared and wondered if I was being beckoned to join him. Does this sound like an impending death? Thank you for any information you can give me.

Jean,

Great question. Firstly, love is always our continued connection. You will for sure meet your parents regardless of your age and theirs. The dream you had about your husband reaching for you...I don't believe he was beckoning you. I believe it was his way to let you know he was connecting with you. I don't believe this is an impending death, just his way of saying he's around. I love that your welcoming him in, I believe he thanks you for that. Please take care, you have been very strong to continue on.

Warmly, Suzane

And last but not least is Lisa. She asks:

My mother recently passed away, and I was wondering if they are able to make contact immediately? My mom always said she would come back, she would give us a sign of some kind. My sister and I talk to her all the time, but I haven't felt an ounce of her prescence, and even though I've asked for any sign from her, there's been nothing. I always thought I would be able take comfort in "knowing" she would be okay again after she passed, but truthfully my faith is not as strong as that anymore. I want to know she is okay, that she is well and whole again. My mom was always the kind that would let us know, but she hasn't. Is there some kind of waiting period or "processing" time for her before she can communicate?

It would greatly ease my mind.

Lisa,

I will tell you without question your mother has been around. I would suggest to you and your sister to please try not to look for the dramatic, try to look and listen for the subtle ways you may not even realize might be a connection. I would also ask you to connect with other's around you to see if anyone else may have felt something. You need to ask your mother again to let you know. I believe your grief could also be why you are having a difficult time.

I wish you both the blessings to keep your hearts and thoughts open to your mother's presence and messages.

Warmly, Suzane

On a Personal Note

I'd like to leave you with one last thought:

Love is the way messengers
frm the mystery tell us things.

Love is the mother
We are her sons and daughters

She Shines inside us,
visible-invisible, as we trust
or lost trust, or feel it start to grow again.
