Thoughts From Suzane

Happy New Year to everyone and WELCOME TO 2008!

We are beginning a new 9-year cycle since 2008 is a universal 1 year. I would have to say that this is pretty important since it sets up what is to be expected in next 9 year cycle. Naturally, my first guest of the year on January 7th will be numerologist Glynis McCants, so tune into my Contact Talk Radio show to see what might be in store for you and yours during this new cycle.

Very interesting that in this new cycle we will be going to the polls electing a "new" president. In this context "new" means something especially interesting, since for the first time in US history, a woman and an African American are competing for the Democratic nomination. It will be interesting to see what Glynis has to say about this, so don't forget to tune in!

Last year I was honored by so many wonderful guests on my show. This year I hope to do the same. I received a wonderful email from someone who was so thankful for Contact Talk Radio and to be able to listen to such informative professionals from so many different areas of life, which she said truly enriched her year. She learned about CTR through my website where there is a wonderful group of people who suggested that she tune in on Mondays to get some of the answers to the many questions she had. And that's just what she did! I'm very pleased to be part of such a eclectic part of the internet radio world.

Of course, I am also well aware that for many of us, January can be a very difficult month, as we crash from the holidays with raised expectations and have to face the pressures of our New Year's Resolutions. I know this is even rawer if this is the first full year following the loss of a loved one. Especially if you are in this situation, rather than putting undo pressure on yourself, why not give yourself an after-year gift of doing something you've wanted to do that is fun? Take a water painting class, for example. Or, if you are feeling adventurous, learn how to snow board. Or . . . go sledding or tobogganing. Whatever! Even if it's your 50th, 60th, 70th, 80th, etc. year on the planet, you might just surprise yourself seeing how much fun a new adventure can be. I've recently read that surfing for the 50's folks is on the rise. That should appeal to those of you in warmer climates, or those who can get away to the warmer areas! In any case, whatever you decide, make it simple. Often less is more. If you set goals that are not truly reachable, it will become frustrating if they are not met.

Of course, there are many of us who will be happy to have things back to normal without all the advertising on TV for gifts that most of us don't need or have the money for anyway. If you got money as a holiday gift this year, consider doing something personal, like getting a massage or a pedicure.

I am looking forward to 2008 and will be putting together my travel schedule soon. I'm not sure yet myself where I'll be appearing, so please keep checking my calendar to see if I'll be in a town near you.

Here's to another year of connecting, sharing, and meeting many of you for the first (or thirty-first!) time.
