Thoughts from Suzane

We're coming up to the end of another year, and boy what a year it has been! It is always my hope that in the middle of all the hoopla that surrounds us in the world today, we remember what is truly important — connecting with the people we love and remaining positive. Of course I am not implying that this is easy, especially lately with all the financial turmoil here and abroad. But what I'm saying is that through all the fears, it is important to see all the positives — the people and things that remain important in our lives.

Like being with family and friends. This is especially important with children nowadays since they are so distracted by video, audio, and electronic gadgetry, to the point where nothing seems to hold their interest outside of their high-tech toys. I just recently read an article in one of those Nature magazines that focus on endangered species. It was written by a photographer who travels all over to the greatest natural parks and wildlife preserves. He shared in the article that while flying on a plane recently, he sat next to a young obese boy who was about ten years old. On the plane, the boy immediately took to playing with his electronic toy. What struck the photographer was that even while they were flying over the Grand Canyon — one of the most spectacular sights in the world — not once did the boy want to lift his head from his game to look out the window to see this awe-inspiring natural site. The photographer went on to share that for him, the greatest memories were those when he was with his father camping, fishing, and taking walks up the mountainside — enjoying Nature to its fullest. These memories more than anything else remained the strongest in his mind. Unfortunately, boys like that are now themselves an endangered species.

Remember the scenes of our families gathering during the holidays? I bet most of us can remember those connections even more than the presents we received. For matters of the heart are always with us. They truly never leave. Those special moments of connection stay with us we pass through life, forever sealed in our memories.

An elderly woman working in Utah told a story of when she was a child during the Great Depression. She said it was one of the most fun times of her life! Friends gathered to play games constantly. They shared meals, laughed, took walks on the beach (she was from California), had sunset parties, and generally cherished every moment. That's how these folks survived the Depression. To be sure, they took to heart that message from FDR: "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." And they could always remember how special those times of sharing were while they chose to have fun despite their situational environment.

With all this as backdrop, there are some simple but meaningful things I'd like you to consider assigning yourself to do during the holidays — to give back and say thanks:

  1. Hug those you love and those who need love. Thank them for being in your life.
  2. Stop DOING and just BE at least once every day. Create and then touch the magic.
  3. Purchase candles to burn throughout the month to celebrate your loved ones in spirit.
  4. Plan and carry out random act of kindness, perhaps one that was dear to a loved one in spirit.
  5. Visit friends. Invite those who could use a meal over for dinner. Connect with as many as possible!
  6. Decorate your house in a way that reflects your beliefs. Remember, angels don't have to just go on the top of the tree — they can go on a mantle or table with flowers or photos.

Take a moment . . . cherish it . . . respect it . . . and keep it close to your heart. The special moments will remain in your heart, and in the hearts of those you love, forever.

Because You Asked

The first question in this newsletter was sent to me by Judy:

Suzane,

I would love to talk to Jordyn and/or have her talk to me. Jordyn died in a tragic car accident on December 11, 2007. She was only 16 years old and I miss her terribly. I guess I just want to know that she is okay and that she is not alone. I also feel like I need to know what happened that day (her accident was on December 4, 2007). She was on her way to work and the first snow had fallen the day before but conditions were not dangerous. She fought very bravely for one whole week but she was in a coma the entire time. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP US!

WE LOVE YOU JORDYN!!!

Judy

Judy:
My deepest thoughts go out to you. I know how hard this is, and with the holidays coming up even more so. I can tell you without question that Jordyn is okay, loved, and in very good hands on the Other Side. To be sure, she is NOT alone. We never die alone, nor are we alone when we reach the non-physical spiritual realm.

Sorry, I don't know and can't tell you what actually happened on the day in question. That type of information might come up in a private session or message, or it might not. What information the DP's give to me from the Other Side, to be honest, I have no control over. However, I can tell you that Jordyn was aware of you while in the coma. She might not have been able to respond to you but I can tell you that in her state of consciousness, she knew you were around.

Again, I know this time of the year can be very difficult for those like you who have suffered the loss of a loved one. May I suggest that you honor your beloved Jordyn by doing something she would have loved to do, or see you do. It might be as simple as a raising a smile or having a good laugh over a story you shared. Also, tell her how much you love her and don't be surprised if you get a message from her in return.

Blessings to you and your family,
Suzane

This second question was sent to me by Sue:

Dear Suzane,

Thank you so much for sharing your gift. You are amazing. My son passed over one year and nine months ago. We miss him so much. My husband's twin brother passed away last month. My question is: Did my son help his uncle pass over to the Other Side? Also, does it matter what religion you believe in when you pass over? Thank you so much for all you do. Take care.

Sue

Sue:

Thank you for your kind words. The direct answer is I can't honestly say whether or not your son actually did help his uncle pass over to the Other Side. But love being what it is, I would bet that your son was there with bells on, ready to meet his uncle and show him the ropes!

Religion is, more than anything, an expression or our belief systems. I personally and strongly believe that God - or God consciousness, whatever that is to you personally - is our most significant spiritual belief.

Our beliefs can impact what happens to us during and immediately after our transitions initially. However, I have spoken to many an atheist and agnostic while they were here on Earth in their bodies, and later after they crossed, and their views completely changed once they have connected to the God-consciousness on the Other Side.

While we are here in our physical bodies, it is a good idea to pray and meditate. Prayer is universal and it is talking to God. Meditation is listening. These two practices teach us how to open our hearts to listen, and ultimately bring us closer to the God-consciousness. If we pray and mediate now, our transitions will be that much easier when we cross over.

Have a blessed holiday,
Suzane

This final question was asked by Patty:

Hi Suzane!

First let me say that I think you rock! I first heard you on Gary Craig's show many many years ago. Time flies! I have so much respect for you and enjoy listening to you.

My question is really just out of curiosity more then anything else. I am always soul searching . . . and I welcome other people's thoughts on things I find spiritually confusing. What is your opinion or thoughts on December 21, 2012?

Thanks and thank-you also for keeping us enlightened.

Patty M.

Patty,
There has been much talk about 2012 over the past few years, and with everything that is going on now, well, even more so.

I want to give you a heads up . . . my first guest of the new year on my radio show will be talking about 2012. They are part of a team of researchers who have done a lot of study with many others on the topic of 2012.

So please tune in to my show on January 5, 2009, 7 pm – 8 pm EST. In case you don't know, details about how to find my show are on my website, www.theseance.com.

In the meantime, have a wonderful, warm and loving holiday,
Suzane

On a Personal Note

This is from Sandy Goodman, author of a book entitled, Love Never Dies. This is called, "Your Birth Day."

Yesterday,
there were tears
sad thoughts
long sighs
and a bleakness
I had not visited in a while
your grave was cold
the rose beside your rock dead and brittle
bubbles meant to send love your way
frozen
and useless
But today,
one day closer
the sun shines timidly
and I pull my thoughts
out of myself
and share them with those who know
I light candles
say your name
touch your picture
your silly grin warms the chill
I will find my way
around the fear
and come to the place
where I can celebrate
your first breath
rather than mourn
your last.
